Cleanliness protocols and sterilization

As per ADA Guidelines, we follow standard precautions of infection control which prevent the transmission of infection and include:

• regular hand hygiene before and after patient contact;

• use, where appropriate, of personal protective barriers such as gloves, masks, eye protection and gowns;

• use, where appropriate, of environmental barriers such as plastic coverings on chair headrests

• wearing of appropriate protective equipment when cleaning instruments;

• appropriate handling of contaminated waste;

• appropriate handling of sharps;

• appropriate reprocessing of reusable instruments;

• effective environmental cleaning; and

• appropriate management of spills of potentially infectious matter.

We follow OSHA (Occupational safety and health administration) protocols

- Use of universal precautions as specified in the guidelines
- Medical follow-up in the event of an “exposure incident” .
- Use of labels or color-coding for items such as sharps disposal boxes and containers for
regulated waste, contaminated laundry and certain specimens.
- Employee training.
- Proper containment of all regulated waste.
